Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price was fined by Major League Baseball for hitting David Ortiz and Mike Carp during a game this past Saturday, according to Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe.

Price had previously said he was upset about Ortiz taking a slow trip around the bases following a home run in last year’s ALDS. When asked if that had led him hitting the Boston slugger with a pitch, he responded that “nobody’s bigger than the game of baseball,” reports Mike Axisa of CBSSports.

Red Sox pitcher Brandon Workman threw at Tampa Bay’s Evan Longoria later in the same game and was given a fine and a six game suspension, which he is currently appealing. Ortiz was unhappy that Price escaped suspension and told the media Price was to blame for the entire situation.

“We didn’t start this up. I didn’t hit nobody. Workman didn’t hit anybody in the first inning. [Price] did.”
